A&E Intervention: After Treatment Special Pt.1

BastisWifey asked:

Former addicts from the series past seasons come together in an intimate Los Angeles studio for a candid discussion. How did the intervention change their lives? What are the relationships with their families like now? And how are they doing since the intervention, are among the questions they will address. The addicts will come face-to-face with their interventionists and families, some for the first time since going to treatment. Includes Sylvia; Michelle; Hubert; Dillon and his mom Tammy; and Coley and his wife Francine. Hosted by Chris Lawford, we’ll also hear from interventionists Jeff Van Vonderen, Candy Finnigan and Ken Seeley.

This was indeed the attitude I had at the time and I still firmly believe that if sombody is intent on continuing to use then that’s exactly what they will do!
I only stopped because I was sick of it all and it took me many attempts.
People who genuinly want help may benifit from this kind of intervention, sadly nothing is certain and even the desire to stop using drugs does not mean you’ll suceed but it’s a good start!

With that attitude, you’re probably right.

Ugh, I **** when they call it a disease. Just the way they say it makes me want to slap them.

I agree Ken is my fav as well.
And the way Sylvia pounds red wine…yikes if I did that I’d be ssooooo sick.

Wow, Ken is my favorite of the interventionists. He seems like a great guy.

  8. tibbydibby on February 20th, 2009 03:47

Just an claimed brief relapse, in which he’s focusing on himself… so he will be able to focus on others…

p.s: I just can’t wait for him to be back :D

I haven’t seen all of these cases, but i would like to see how some of the cases really ended up. The first year, especially, after getting off of drugs and/or alcohol, is the hardest.

Awesome… 19 years clean! Very good job!!

Wow, that’s a good success rate. I’m glad they are doing this show, to be honest, and that they are all former addicts, so they can relate to the people they’re trying to help.

God, Sylvia was desperate for that alcohol. Looked like a merlot

They always know… Trust me I have been there. I am soo happy for Sylvia. I cried when i saw her full Intervention. Sylvia had excellent words to say on the episode…

Its kind of a bummer, more so than any other drunk on this show I absolutely wanted to party with Sylvia-her and that bleach blonde with the big *****..

  15. 911SGY on March 3rd, 2009 19:30

    What a bunch of morons.

  16. DaveODrisc on March 4th, 2009 00:16

I’m so glad nobody tried to pull an intervention on me!!
I would have fucking killed them!!

My Brother(bless him) had a go but I just jumped out the window(it was only 2 stories down and if you dangle you don’t usually do too much damage!
My point is there are some people that it is impossible to intervene with.

Intervention would not have worked with me.

  17. nonprofitgirl on March 5th, 2009 15:42

I’m not done with the episode yet, but it’s good to see Sylvia. And the Interventionists themselves are inspiring.

  18. FiyaCutie on March 6th, 2009 15:07

  19. chromeskull on March 7th, 2009 08:50

    What’s the story with Jeff?

  20. anniedawg25 on March 10th, 2009 06:01

alot of these past intervention participants have Myspace pages…..search Intervention (or something along those lines) and it will take you to a fan site, where alot of these peeps are on the friends list…..even Candy’s on there (and they look like legit pages, not fakes)

It looks like they are doing pretty good!

  21. FacialsRus on March 12th, 2009 12:21

What I would have given to be there in the audience!

  22. yaylight on March 14th, 2009 07:22

“What you see is what the camera sees” plus heavy, heavy (and sometimes misleading) editing.

  23. LoveSuicideX on March 17th, 2009 09:47

I know Cristy didn’t make it, but I wanna know how she’s doing.

  24. KikixLarou on March 19th, 2009 10:27
