nope. u have to get virgin organic coconut oil…it has no scent to it . It’s a little expensive….If you have a Whole Foods Market where u live they sell a 14 oz jar of it for 8 dollars :) . The blue magic kind is pretty much just vaseline (petrolatum) and fragrance (artificial coconut fragrance).

Great! I am going to try this as well. What brand of coconut oil is this? I don’t believe I’ve seen it in stores, but I might buy it online then. Oh and are you still using the organic shampoo and conditioner you reviewed? Have you noticed a change from them since you’ve started using them? I’m sick of all the sulfates and alcohols. I use Pantene…it’s makes hair look nice….but at the same time, it’s actually damaging hair. Very bad.

    is it expensive??

  6. latinavixn on April 8th, 2009 15:36

Oh and one more thing (wouldnt fit in my other comment). You are right on target suggesting to use the oil treatment on wet hair instead of dry. Wetting the hair opens the hair cuticles to absorb more than it would if the hair were dry. So, very good advice! Take care hun!

Hey Andrea! Love all your videos! It’s refreshing to see women inspiring women. I’m a licensed hair stylist and give kudos to your hair tips. The only one that I would discourage African American women from doing is brushing wet hair. Thats one of the 1st no-no’s you learn in school. For black women trying to grow their hair will surely have breakage. You are of mixed decent so your hair is probably not as “wiry”, so youre able to do it with great results. Great job on your vid’s though, luv em!

This treatment is awesome!!! My hair was extremely frizzy after Blow drying and ironing (alot of damage from Highlighting it!!! I use it along with Almond Oil and use the heating Cap, then i shampooed twice and used a mild conditioner (Silicon MAXX) After i style it there was virtually NO FRIZZ. Great Vid. THX

Thanks so much! My hair used to be soft and shiny, but after having my son it lost a lot of body and shine. This has made my hair better than ever, I love it! Can you suggest a toxic free shampoo/conditioner?
